The village spectacle shows hold and important place as a resource for the Turkish theatre. The history of traditional village spectacle shows goes back to thousands of years and today, these plays still continue to be performed in many villages across Turkey.
The people from Antalya Kaş-Kalkan area have a deep rooted passion for theatre coming from all different backgrounds. Local people embrace the theatre as a way of relaxation after a long hot day’s work on the land, in the fields and on mountains. Many different people were interviewed for this project on their love of theatre from the Antalya Kaş-Kalkan and Mersin-Arslanköy area.
